Make this your default list. I have gained insight on responding not only to children but also adults in a more responsive way. Putting ourselves in their shoes, realizing what a big deal these things are. Still very important and very helpful just not what I expected when I picked up the book. I only got a B on my test. Some were helpful, but I found most to be overly simplistic or structured.
Ginott, but many aspects of this book were indeed dated.
Well, one of my main self-improvement goals for the past few years has been to improve my communication skills, especially with relation to conflict resolution and emotions. I know how important it is for you that I get an A. Between Parent and Child: BUT I highly recommend “Liberated Parents, Liberated Children,” also in praent book list, which is early s, I think, and written by some of the mothers in one Ginott’s groups.
